Antonio
Bucardo Rivera
Antonio Bucardo Rivera, 21, from Waslala, Nicaragua is the project director.
He is a second year student at the Agricultural Institute in Waslala studying
to be a agricultural engineer. He manages the project by visiting the
families and working with them to raise the piglets and ensure the children
are in school. He is continuing to grow and develop the program in the
communities. He is excited to be working on the project especially because
he can use the skills he learns in the classroom to help the families
in Waslala, especially the children. Antonio loves to dance and play baseball
and has over 30 nieces and nephews!

Celso
Bucardo Rivera
Celso Bucardo
Rivera, 25, from Waslala, Nicaragua, is an advisor for the project. He
recently received a full government scholarship to pursue a BA in Botanical
Studies at the Indigenous Caribbean University (BICU) in Puerto Cabezas,
Nicaragua. He developed the project and continues to be an advisor for
the project. In 2004, Celso personally bought all 206 piglets for families
in five remote Waslalan communities. In his new role as advisor Celso
assists Antonio and helps with project development. Celso loves to sing
and is eager to make English his second language.

Kat
Kirsch
Kat Kirsch,
26, from Redondo Beach, California is an Assistant Account Manager. Her
duties include attaining financial support for the project, organizing
the project plans and maintaining communication with Celso. She joined
Celso in Waslala in the fall of 2004 to initiate the project. Kat is currently
an Account Executive at Formula PR in El Segundo, CA. She graduated from
Ithaca College in 2004. Kat
plays third base for her kickball team.
Bridget
Bucardo Rivera
Bridget Bucardo Rivera, 28, from Wayne, New Jersey is an advisor and translator
for the project. She lived in Waslala for a year in 2003, working as a
project liaison for Free the Children International. She received her
BA in Economics and Honors from Villanova University in 2002. With her
economics background and first-hand experience in development, she provides
value guidance for the program. She currently works on community development
issues as Assistant Director of the Community Soup Kitchen in Morristown,
NJ. Bridget is a world traveler and has studied in Egypt and Ireland.

Pablo
Bucardo Rivera
Pablo Bucardo Rivera, 29, from Wayne, New Jersey is an advisor and liaison
for the project. Pablo was born and raised in a rural community of Nicaragua
and provides first-hand insight into the communities that we serve. He
provides communication services for the project to ensure regular updates
from our staff in Nicaragua. Pablo holds a BA in Individualized Studies
from Farleigh Dickinson University and is currently pursuing a Masters
in Administrative Sciences. He works at Cedar Crest Village in Pompton
Plains, NJ. Pablo
used to walk 26 miles twice a month to attend elementary school.

Matt
Kirsch
Matt Kirsch, 30, from Phoenixville, PA is an advisor and coordinator for
the project. His expertise in the non-profit arena and his public relations
skills have been instrumental in the success of this initiative. Matt
is currently the coordinator of youth ministry at St. Joseph’s in
Downingtown, PA. He graduated from the College of St. Elizabeth in 2004.
He is currently the coordinator of youth ministry at Sacred Heart in Royersford,
PA. Matt can wiggle his ears.

Meredith
Kirsch
Meredith Kirsch,
22, from Pompton Plains, NJ is the East Coast representative for the project.
A student at Providence College, Meredith is majoring in Public and Community
Service Studies with a concentration in global anthropology. She is also
a Spanish minor and recently spent a semester in Granada, Spain. Having
traveled to Nicaragua in 2004, Meredith is a strong advocate for the initiative
and speaks on behalf of Pigs for Kids in the Metropolitan and New England
areas. She is a skilled sleep walker.
